THE GREENE SOLUTION

Commissioned specifically for integration into the hotel’s dramatic interiors, The Greene Solution is a collection of artworks inspired by the irony of a “green” hotel in the heart of an oil-driven economic center. Artwork from the collection appears in each of the hotel’s 196 rooms, as well as on orientational signs, room numbers, and elevator panels.

ART

The Greene Solution portrays scenes from a surrealist Noir thriller set in a dystopian landscape drenched in distortion and mystery. Connections and symbols buried in each scene lure viewers toward other scenes, where more clues await. Through these discoveries, viewers collaborate with the artist in building a fiction that bears comparison with the real world.

The Greene Solution exists as a metaphor for the degradation of our physical environment. But it is also a contemplation on the games we play, as societies and as individuals, in relation to that crisis.
